CANYON COUNTRY, California (May 24, 2003) - Officials with Largo Vista
Entertainment Inc. (LVE) announced today they are looking at potential
sites in Fresno to hold the inaugural “California Country Music
Festival” (CCMF) on Memorial Day weekend 2004. CCMF, designed as an
annual, 3-day outdoor country music festival, will feature some of
country music’s biggest stars, expecting to attract up to 50,000
persons the first year of operation.
Other features include food, beverage, and crafts vendors; a ‘kidz
zone’ and an overnight camping area for over 500 RV’s.
Kurt Wilson, President of LVE and Executive Producer of CCMF
states; “We are very pleased to make this important announcement.
After looking at several sites throughout Central California we
realize Fresno is the perfect location for CCMF. Fresno is easily
accessible from highway 99, and the sites we are considering have the
country atmosphere we are looking for”.
“The success of the first year will be crucial to continuing CCMF year
after year. And the support of the Fresno City and County governments,
and the citizens of Fresno, is an important first step to
accomplishing our goals to produce a quality, well respected, and fun
music festival,” says Wilson.
“The City of Fresno is very honored and excited to host the very
first ‘California Country Music Festival’,” says Fresno Mayor Alan
Autry. “We also look forward to working together with Largo Vista
Entertainment, to make it the best event of its kind in the world.”
Some of the artists being considered to perform at CCMF 2004 include
Brooks & Dunn, Travis Tritt, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, Lee Ann
Womak, Dwight Yoakum, Keith Urban, Trick Pony and George Jones to name
a few.
Largo Vista Entertainment has a huge advantage in securing name
talent through their exclusive agreement with their talent buyer TBA
Entertainment Corporation, as well as the proximity of the annual
“Academy of Country Music Awards” show held in Las Vegas the 3rd week
of May”.
Mr. Wilson emphasizes the significance of holding CCMF on Memorial
Day weekend as “a great way to pay tribute to the men and women of the
armed forces, our “fallen heroes”, POW’s and MIA’s – by celebrating
their bravery, while at the same time recognizing the sacrifices they
made…through the Music of America”.
Final approvals from the various City and County agencies and
departments in Fresno are currently underway.
